2 Ladismith

What a wonderful state:

No phone, no internet, no TV.

On the 2nd day of my trip I landed in The Country Garden Farm in the Voordaal Valley.

Several small cottages in the absolute nowhere invite you to sleep, relax and do nothing (or chill, as it is called today).

And that for a price of 19,-€ per night. Wonderful!

I wanted to go after the check-in still quickly to Ladismith (18km) to buy food, because here self-catering is announced.

Halfway the thunderstorm hell broke loose and I got wet to the skin.

The farmer was happy, me it threw Rosinante in the mud. But my training in Cape Town was not useless, I get the heavy machine well also alone upright. Today already for the third time!

Now I'm sitting in the cozy hut, the rain pattering all around, it's the only sound to be heard.

Wait, a bird didn't just chatter in between?

Rosinante is doing well, the first 200 km off road/gravel road are behind us. The poor thing has suffered more in the last two days than in the whole of last year. But the studded tires have already paid off. With normal road tires, the route would not have been manageable.

Because it is so wonderfully away from the world, I also spend the next day here. It must dry anyway all clothes first and it applies to optimize the equipment.

Which in turn means. to separate from some things.

And since I now had nothing to eat, the good farmer, Bernhard his name, brought me a plate of spaghetti, which was then also enough for 2 days!

What I still have to work on is the feeling of always wanting to go on, of not allowing myself a break. I want to experience the here and now and let it have an effect on me. I really have time now!

Motto: Travel slowly

I think driving one day and staying at least one day somewhere is a start.
