The next day a wonderful ride through the Meiringspoort, a beautiful motorcycle route through a gorge, crowned by a waterfall - a dream.
After a coffee stop in Prince Albert, we then went easily to the Swartber Pass, which winds (or as educated people would say: meanders) over the Swartberg in adventurous gravel routes.
After two water crossings and a few tight turns there came a steep, tight turn, I went too slow and there Rosinante was lying in the dirt.
After laboriously heaving around and dismantling all the luggage, I managed to get the Mongdor wheel upright again.
What I couldn't build up was the morale and courage and so I declared the pass the winner on points and went back.
Glad to have escaped the disaster, I thought about many things. Starting with switching to a car, purchasing a lighter motorcycle and ending with only asphalt in the future.
I spent the night in de Rust, carefully avoiding any pebbles on the way there.
